IMHO, one need not "reproduce" the original if u are convinced that you can get all the nuances right. Take the essence of the song and deliver it in a way that you would enjoy and see it fit. I personally would love to have an original interpreation than blindly copying the original and delivering it back. And I think you have a done a great job in this song.
Hi Vidyu, Thank you for posting this immortal ghazal from the movie Mohabat by Mehdi Hassan ( A small printer's devil has crept into the title on your posting- in the name of the artist). That does not take away the sheer joy of listening to you. Yes, there is a lot of variation from the original by the Mehdi Hassan saab, but Hey! a sari can be worn a thousand ways and yet look absolutely stunning! Keep up the good work. Thank you soo much for acceding to our request! madhavan kutty
Vidyu - wow - that was excellent. It does not really matter if you sing it your own way rather than following the original. I remember Hariharan say in one of the shows 'Sur ko pakdo , singer ko nahin ' !!
Hi Vidyu, This was one of the best renditions of "Ranjish hi Sahi" that I have heard after the original. You have excelled on this one beyond expectations. Another one to try next is "Koo ba Koo", also by Mehdi Hasan.
Full of compliments..What more can I say...? I've heard only a couple of your songs and they gave me goosebumps. These two songs are more than I have heard from the other bloggers, since I was moving and had no time to listen (much to my musical friends chagrin). Please keep up the good work. You are an exceptional singer - so far I've heard Allah Tero Naam and Ranjish Hi Sahi....I will listen to the rest once I'm settled in. Kaumudee Torsekar

I don't care what anyone else says about originality.
Ham to aapki awaaz ke qaayal ho gaye.
Banda itna hi kahega.
Tasleem.
One of my favorite ghazals, and I loved the way you sang it. Do you do requests?
Hi Vidyu ...I have no idea how I missed this one ...but what a rendition !!!
That was very nice. Well done. May I ask where you got the karaoke from track from?
